I recently came across a news about global capability centres expanding their horizons in India. This development prompted me to start this discussion thread and understand what others has to say.
After digging a bit, I happened to come across many insights, for e.g. a sudden yet significant surge in GCCs establishing themselves in Bengaluru and expanding innovation hubs in here. This is undoubtedly a positive sign, indicating plenty of opportunities for #skilling, #innovation, and #newjobs in India. It's fascinating to see Bengaluru, holding a prominent position hosting quite a remarkable portion of their workforce in the first two quarters of FY24-25.
Given the exponential growth of AI and its potential to impact all products and services, these #globalcapabilitycentres are increasingly focused on building AI capabilities and driving the AI transformation for their internal enterprises. Their capabilities encompass huge talent pool of AI professionals (more than 120K in count), with 30% of AI #COEs housed in software & internet space.
💡 Fact check, did you know? 🤔
Bengaluru has already solidified its position as India’s leading hub for Global Capability Centres, hosting 36 % of the GCC workforce so far in FY25, according to a report by TeamLease Digital. “Over 185+ GCCs have set up dedicated AI/ML COEs here and are building myriad use cases across customer experience".
